Born and raised impatiently in British Columbia, Daryl Henry travelled around the world twice, taking notes. Along the way he became an architect, sailor, Royal Mountie, war correspondent, skydiver and pilot, eventually settling in Santa Barbara, California, United States, where he taught himself to write. First, television and films, then short stories, and finally, novels.
